Personalized Study Programs: Turning Research, Experience, and Your Time Into Results
Gigi Diane Guarnieri Rosso

Many students work hard but do not see the results they expect. The problem is rarely a lack of motivation or intelligence; it is almost always a matter of how time is used and how studying is structured. My personalized study programs are designed to address this gap precisely, combining evidence-based learning science with over 30 years of experience in teaching, language development, and academic coaching.

Evidence-Based Study Techniques, Applied Personally
I completed the FutureLearn course “Improving Your Study Techniques” offered by the University of Groningen, which is grounded in cognitive science and educational research. This course focuses on proven strategies such as:
Retrieval practice (learning by actively recalling, not rereading)
Spaced and interleaved practice (studying smarter over time, not cramming)
Effective planning and goal setting
Metacognition (understanding how you learn best)
What matters, however, is not knowing these techniques in theory, but applying them consistently and realistically within a student’s actual life. This is where personalization becomes essential.
Experience That Goes Beyond Theory
Alongside formal training, I bring more than three decades of experience working with:
Middle school (MYP), high school, and university students
IB Diploma students across multiple subjects
Learners with ADHD, anxiety, memory challenges, or language barriers
Multilingual students working across different educational systems
This background allows me to adapt research-based techniques to real students, real constraints, and real academic demands. A strategy that works on paper but ignores fatigue, attention limits, or emotional load will not be sustained. My approach is always practical, flexible, and student-centered.
A Personalized Study Guide — Not a Generic Plan
Each student receives a personalized study guide, built around:
Their subjects and academic goals
Their school schedule and extracurricular commitments
Their concentration patterns and energy levels
Any learning differences or accommodations
Rather than overwhelming students with unrealistic schedules, we focus on consistency, clarity, and achievable routines. The goal is to create a structure that supports learning without taking over a student’s life.

Using the Time You Thought You Didn’t Have
One of the most powerful changes comes from reclaiming time that students often dismiss as “not useful.”
Those extra 30 to 60 minutes per day — between activities, after dinner, or at the start of the evening — can be transformed into highly effective study blocks when used correctly. Instead of long, exhausting sessions, we work with:
Short, focused study periods
Clear, limited objectives
Tasks that match attention span and mental energy
This approach reduces stress while increasing retention and confidence.

Ongoing Feedback and Support
A study plan only works if it is maintained and adjusted. That is why my service does not stop at delivering a study guide.
We stay in touch to:
Review what is working and what is not
Adjust routines as academic demands change
Address obstacles such as procrastination or overload
Reinforce habits until they become automatic
This ongoing feedback loop helps students move from good intentions to sustainable academic routines.

The Goal: Independence, Confidence, and Results
The ultimate aim of personalized study programs is not dependence on external support, but independence. Students learn how to manage their time, understand their learning process, and approach their studies with confidence.
By combining evidence-based techniques, long-term educational experience, and continuous guidance, these personalized programs help students turn everyday time into meaningful progress — and effort into results.
If you are looking for a study approach that is realistic, research-informed, and tailored specifically to you, a personalized study program may be the missing link.
